Finally I have dispelled the myth: there is *no* 72 hour "general" refund law in Texas. Here is what the Attorney General recently wrote:

There is a three day right of recision on home solicitations (door-to-door sales) in Texas and certain other specific transactions. The recision right should be disclosed in the contract. I am aware of no general right. Please keep in mind that the Attorney General in Texas cannot offer legal advice to individuals not named in the government code. If you have legal questions about a specific transaction please contact a private attorney for advice.
